my history and style as a photographer

has been influenced by vintage films, fine art, music, fashion editorial & lifestyle photography .

. Many years of photographic art & design in commercial, fine art, portraiture, personal branding, editorial lifestyle and cinematic wedding coverage .

received bachelor of fine arts degree in the photographic arts program at AUARTS.

Originally accepted into art school with a painting, drawing and fashion design portfolio. Studio courses in glass-blowing, design, textiles, writing and art history were all so great; so inspiring.

I unexpectedly fell into photography during an unplanned photo experiment with a friend at the end of my first year in art school.

I love everything about the process of film.

...and the Hasselblad camera made me love it more.

The traditional process of photography really captured me. From shooting, processing, developing and printing all types of film in many different ways was pretty magical for me.

LIKE AN OLD MOVIE OR A REALLY GOOD BOOK, I WAS SWEPT AWAY BY IT ALL.

Learning technical skills in chemistry & optics, dark rooms, on location and in studios expanded my perception & understanding of photographic arts.

FOCUSED THESE DAYS ON URBAN DATE-NIGHT-INSPIRED ELOPEMENT AND Lifestyle PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY.

For me, being a photographer is like being a time traveller.

like how present moments can seem fleeting yet pictures hold space that could be anywhere in any time.

Being the lead and in-house photographer for publishing, branding, art & design projects, fashion and lifestyle editorial magazines, while collaborating with creative art directors, designers, models, actors, athletes, musicians, dancers, filmmakers, architects etc over the years has been incredibly interesting and educational.

personal PRACTICES in more ANCIENT ARTS like yoga meditation and breathwork led me to train & be certified as an ashtanga +therapeutic Yoga instructor +(Qi Gong rooted) BioEnergy Practitioner .

these practices generated deeper interconnected awareness and appreciation with the natural world inside and outside.

I am drawn to be in and around Nature as much as possible.

. . . it's the light + presence in an environment . that is a beautiful thing to me..
